The Next Revolution in Apparel: Digital Clothing

There  is a huge buzz  right now about electronic devices worn on the body. Whether it’s glasses, watches, smart badges, bracelets or apparel, the potential is fantastic: hands-free technology to generate real-time information and reporting abilities. Designers are currently creating apparel, accessories and fitness wear that can do everything from monitor your heart rate to charge your smartphones.

Wearable tech items are sure to attract attention, which means using wearable technology as a marketing vehicle is a huge opportunity. For example, you can add your logo to the iMove fitness band, which tracks movement and sleep patterns and is paired with a smartphone app. The band can be branded on the edge of the display, or with an emblem on the back.

Technology is transforming apparel and accessories – don’t miss out!

2015 Color of the Year: Marsala

Pantone has revealed the color of the year for 2015

“Rich and charismatic, Marsala tastefully fulfills with complex sophistication”

“Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability”

Marsala is a naturally robust and earthy wine and the full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colors. It is eye-catching, but not overwhelming or bright.

The color is appealing to men and women and is flattering against many skin tones. Texture is key:  a matte finish highlights Marsala’s organic nature while adding a sheen conveys a completely different message of glamour and luxury.

Spirit Jerseys' Momentum Continues through 2015!

Trend Alert: Spirit Jerseys’ Momentum Continues through 2015!

One of the hottest fashion trends started at colleges and their Greek communities, but now the trend has hit the retail crowd and is popular with schools, fans, teams, and corporate events: Spirit Jerseys.

Spirit Jerseys are long sleeve 100% cotton T-Shirts with seams in different places and a lot of fabric under the arms. There is a billboard like area on the back that allows for a 24” wide print that extends across the entire back of the shirt and onto the shoulders or sleeves. This print is typically just words.

When it comes to decorating these jerseys, think BIG. Screenprints across the back shoulder, printed textures and puff ink are the most popular decorating methods. However, the garment allows for an array of embellishments, such as screen printing, embroidery, transfers, vinyl, rhinestones or mixed media, in a variety of locations.

Based on market trends, its momentum will continue through 2015, with additional fabric treatments, art applications and silhouette changes.

7 Deadly Sins of Promotional Product Advertising

1. Don't just buy "cheap" stuff to give away.

2. Don't compromise the integrity of your brand color scheme - go full color.

3. Don't cram your message into small imprint areas.

4. Don't miss your audience "age" style.

5. Don't let your audience leave an event without a relevant take-away.

6. Don't hand out promotional products without a strategy.

7. Don't wait 'til the last minute to order - avoid rush fees/overnight shipping.

2014 Can't Miss Fashions for T-shirts

It felt like spring would never get here, but it’s finally time to start wearing t-shirts! With so many options to choose from when selecting t-shirts to customize with your logo, we’ve highlighted some of the trends that will be big in 2014. Trends don’t just focus on style. It’s about finding the perfect blend of color, style, comfort, and the ability to last that makes a t-shirt a perfect item for logo apparel.

Neons and pastels have been trending for a few years and guess what? These colors are still in.  However, softer and washed out colors are working their way in the mix, too. Pigments, both faded and muted are very popular. And charcoal – this color will be big this year! It works well as a common-ground color, instead of black and white. Actually, any heather color is a popular alternative right now. They are fashion-forward and on-trend and they stand out from those classic basics.

Blends - 100% cotton t-shirts are still the bestseller, but trends are going away from the heavy cotton fabric to lighter and blended fabrics. Poly-blends and tri-blends are very popular.

Performance Fabrics - T-shirts made of moisture-wicking fabrics have surged in popularity over the past few years. Activewear is no longer just for the gym. 100% polyester, moisture-wicking, anti-microbial, and UV protecting fabrics are a dominating trend.

Lightweight & Easy-Care - Everyone loves clothing that’s easy to wash and wear. Combined with lightweight and breathable materials, you’ve got a winner!

A t-shirt doesn’t need to be plain to be decorated with your logo. Take advantage of popular patterns like stripes, polka dots, and chevrons on promotional apparel and then add your custom logo for a truly stand-out and stylish piece. We’ve noticed a growing popularity in ombre (shades of color that graduate from light to dark) and camouflage. Camo is the print of the season. Don’t believe it? Even top-level performance brands, such as Nike and Under Armor are going the camo route with their popular anti-microbial, moisture wicking and UV protecting fabrics. It’s here and it’s popular and it’s not just in the greens…we’re seeing it in a rainbow of colors in your run-of-the-mill camo, as well as ‘Digital Camo’.

Distressed Fabrics –The novelty of items looking like they’ve been worn, beaten up and endured a few life experiences is still here, and growing.

Tag-less – Don’t want itchy tags? We offer tag-less, logoed shirts that are great for creating custom branded logo apparel for any business.

The standard unisex imprinted t-shirts will always be popular because of their cost effectiveness, but oh how the options have expanded beyond that! In terms of fit, t-shirts are moving away from a short, cropped look to a long, fitted look.  Women don’t want to wear a boxy unisex t-shirt. And with the vast options available, there’s no excuse to make them. There are so many cute, stylish and affordable options for women’s apparel in the promotional market — many of them with coordinating men’s styles, too.

Distressed - the relaxed, beaten up look of distressed apparel that looks like it has been through a life full of experiences is huge!

Mixed decorating techniques - embroidery and screen (or others) on the same garment is wildly popular!

Laser embellishments and cut out transfers – we can provide a unique t-shirt that stands out from the crowd!

Tackle twill – tackle twill appliqué is hard to beat these days, and textured fabric that resembles basketball and football leather draws a lot of interest, too.

Bling– Bling is still in! Petrocelli Marketing Group can help you achieve bling with the use of appliqués and sublimation embellishment techniques.

If you want basic apparel, we can certainly do that. We’re good at it and it’s an industry standard. But what makes us stand apart is our knowledge of fashion, current and upcoming trends and what appeals to people who want to wear their branded apparel.
