It's a tie! The Color of the Year is . . .

The 2016 Pantone Color of the year is announced . . . and it's a tie!

ROSE QUARTZ & SERENITY

PANTONE 13-1520 & PANTONE 15-3919

A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades - Rose Quartz and Serenity are chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year. The colors demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue.

According to Pantone, ‘Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

“We wanted compassion, which today a lot of people are looking for,” says Ms. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone’s Color Institute. She describes the colors as “inducing feelings of stability, constancy, comfort and relaxation,” and argues that they “create balance in a chaotic world.”

If these hues are not part of your logo, there is still plenty of room for these colors in your 2016 marketing efforts. Use the colors as a background to make your logo pop! Or, use subtle additions of the colors as a border or for a tag line.
