It
felt like spring would never get here, but it’s finally time to start wearing t-shirts!
With so many options to choose from when selecting t-shirts to customize with
your logo, we’ve highlighted some of the trends that will be big in 2014. Trends don’t just focus on style. It’s about
finding the perfect blend of color, style, comfort, and the ability to last
that makes a t-shirt a perfect item for logo apparel.
Colors
Neons
and pastels have been trending for a few years and guess what? These colors are
still in. However, softer and washed out
colors are working their way in the mix, too. Pigments, both faded and muted
are very popular. And charcoal – this color will be big this year! It works
well as a common-ground color, instead of black and white. Actually, any
heather color is a popular alternative right now. They are fashion-forward and
on-trend and they stand out from those classic basics.
Fabric
Blends - 100% cotton t-shirts are
still the bestseller, but trends are going away from the heavy cotton fabric to
lighter and blended fabrics. Poly-blends and tri-blends are very popular.
Performance
Fabrics - T-shirts
made of moisture-wicking fabrics have surged in popularity over the past few years. Activewear is no longer just for
the gym. 100% polyester, moisture-wicking, anti-microbial, and UV protecting
fabrics are a dominating trend.
Lightweight & Easy-Care - Everyone loves clothing that’s easy to wash and wear. Combined with lightweight and breathable materials, you’ve got a winner!
Patterns
A t-shirt
doesn’t need to be plain to be decorated with your logo. Take advantage of
popular patterns like stripes, polka dots, and chevrons on promotional apparel
and then add your custom logo for a truly stand-out and stylish piece. We’ve
noticed a growing popularity in ombre (shades of color that graduate from light
to dark) and camouflage. Camo
is the print of the season. Don’t believe it? Even top-level performance
brands, such as Nike and Under Armor are going the camo route with their
popular anti-microbial, moisture wicking and UV protecting fabrics. It’s here and it’s popular and
it’s not just in the greens…we’re seeing it in a rainbow of colors in your
run-of-the-mill camo, as well as ‘Digital Camo’.
Styles
Distressed Fabrics –The novelty of items looking like
they’ve been worn, beaten up and endured a few life experiences is still here,
and growing.
Fits
The
standard unisex imprinted t-shirts will always be popular because of their cost
effectiveness, but oh how the options have expanded beyond that! In terms of
fit, t-shirts are moving away from a short, cropped look to a long, fitted
look. Women don’t want to wear a boxy
unisex t-shirt. And with the vast options available, there’s no excuse to make
them. There are so many cute, stylish and affordable options for women’s
apparel in the promotional market — many of them with coordinating men’s
styles, too.
Decoration
Distressed - the relaxed,
beaten up look of distressed apparel that looks like it has been through a life
full of experiences is huge!
Mixed
decorating techniques - embroidery and screen (or others) on the same garment is
wildly popular!
Laser
embellishments and cut out transfers – we can provide a unique t-shirt that
stands out from the crowd!
Tackle
twill – tackle twill appliqué is hard to beat these days, and textured fabric
that resembles basketball and football leather draws a lot of interest, too.
Bling–
Bling is still in! Petrocelli Marketing Group can help you achieve bling with
the use of appliqués and sublimation embellishment techniques.
If you
want basic apparel, we can certainly do that. We’re good at it and it’s an
industry standard. But what makes us stand apart is our knowledge of fashion,
current and upcoming trends and what appeals to people who want to wear
their branded apparel.
